The best time to visit Peloponnese is May, June, July, August, September, and October. In summer, daytime highs average 33°C (91°F), with peaks around 38°C (100°F); in winter, nights average 6°C (43°F), dropping to around -1°C (30°F) on the coldest. Rainfall is very low during the best travel period (14 mm (0.6 in)), making Peloponnese an ideal destination.
The Peloponnese, the peninsula south of Corinth, combines ancient sites (Olympia, Mycenae, Epidaurus) with beautiful coastlines. The coastal areas typically reach 30–33°C (86–91°F) in summer; the interior — Arcadia, Mystras — stays noticeably cooler due to altitude. The best travel time for archaeology is April to June and September to October: temperatures of 20–27°C (68–81°F) make longer sightseeing sessions comfortable.
The sea warms to 24–26°C (75–79°F) from July to September — beach stays on the Mani coast or in the bay of Nafplio combine ideally with cultural tours. In high summer, sightseeing at ancient sites without an early morning start becomes torture. The Peloponnese is considerably less touristy than the islands — those who seek authentic Greece will find it here.

April offers great weather in Peloponnese with fewer tourists and lower prices — ideal for those who want to avoid the peak season crowds.
Winter on the peninsula: 15 to 17°C (59 to 63°F) on the coast, snow in the Taygetos mountains. Olympia, Mycenae and Epidaurus are practically deserted — the best season if you are here for the stones rather than the beach.
The Peloponnese in spring is hiking country: flowering maquis, full gorges, 18 to 25°C (64 to 77°F). The Mani with its tower houses and the mountain villages of Arcadia are at their best now.
High summer at 30 to 33°C (86 to 91°F) and almost no rain. The coasts around Nafplio, Kalamata and Kyparissia in the west fill up, but the peninsula is large enough that an empty bay is always within reach.
September and October: the sea is warmer than in June at 24 to 26°C (75 to 79°F), the air pleasant, the olive harvest beginning. From November it turns quiet and rainier — time for monasteries and mountain roads.
The holiday fills the peninsula's villages with families come home. In the Mani and Arcadia the liturgy is followed by village feasts that often run until morning — the most authentic time of year, and the busiest.
