Bodrum on the Turkish Aegean coast enjoys one of the sunniest climates in the eastern Mediterranean: with over 300 sunny days a year and a pronounced dry season from May to October, the peninsula is a reliable beach destination. High summer brings temperatures typically of 30–31°C, which on the coast feel more pleasant than inland thanks to the Meltemi — the characteristic north-westerly Aegean wind.

The Meltemi is the defining climate element of Bodrum's summer. It blows daily from the north-west from July to mid-September, keeping the air dry and making Bodrum one of the most popular sailing areas in the Mediterranean. For beach visitors it means a fresh breeze and comfortable nights despite high summer — for sailors and kitesurfers it is the main reason to come.

September and October are Bodrum's secret high season for connoisseurs: the sea has warmed to typically 24–28°C, the tourist masses have departed after the school holidays, and prices drop significantly. The weather remains stably sunny and warm until the end of October (typically 23–28°C). Those who want to combine boat tours, vineyards and historic sites such as the Mausoleum will find the most relaxed conditions in this window.
