The best time to visit Georgia is June, July, August, and September. In summer, temperatures rise to 32°C; in winter they can drop to -2°C. During the best travel months, the sun shines up to 10 hours per day — ideal for beach and outdoor activities.
Georgia has a completely different climate depending on the region: the Black Sea coast (Batumi) is subtropical-humid with over 2,400 mm annual precipitation and warm year-round (15–30°C). The capital Tbilisi in the east is more continental — hot summers (32–35°C) and cold winters with occasional snow.
The best travel time for Tbilisi and the wine region of Kakheti is May/June and September/October: temperatures of 22–28°C, little rain and the landscape in full bloom or autumnal gold. In high summer Tbilisi is very hot; the high mountain regions of Svaneti and Kazbegi then offer cool alternatives with breathtaking alpine scenery.
