Germany is not a classic sun destination, but surprises with vibrant cities that blossom in summer. Berlin and Munich have warm summers (22–28°C) with long evenings, lively beer gardens and a rich cultural and events calendar. Winter brings the famous Christmas markets — Nuremberg, Dresden and Munich are among the most beautiful in Europe.
The best travel time for city breaks is between May and September. Munich has the Alpine advantage: with a Föhn, the mountain chain lights up directly behind the city, and ski resorts such as the Zugspitze are reachable within an hour. Berlin, by contrast, is a year-round destination with museums, clubs and culture — even grey November days lose their gloom in the city.
