December – February

March – June
Spring and the best time to visit: the beaches in the south (Is Arutas, Tharros) can be reached without parking problems. On 1 May the Sagra di Sant'Efisio begins — Sardinia's largest procession, with thousands of participants in historic costume.
July – September
Costa Smeralda peak season: Porto Cervo is the yachting hub of Europe's upper class, and the sandy beaches of Villasimius are a dream. Anyone looking for silence heads into the Gennargentu mountains.
October – November
Off-season: warm water, empty beaches, and the nuraghi tower ruins can be explored without the heat. The best time for the island.
