In June the sun does not set until around 10 pm, the North Coast 500 fills up and Glencoe, Skye and Loch Ness are busy. Daytime highs of 16 to 18°C (61 to 64°F) are ideal for hiking, while in the evening the midges descend in swarms. In August the heather blooms purple.
