Still off-season — flights and hotels significantly cheaper than in December.
November is an acceptable travel month for South Africa (Cape Town) — conditions are fine, though January, February, March, and December offer even better weather.
Daytime highs average 24°C (75°F), cooling to 15°C (59°F) at night (daily average: 19°C (66°F)). Peaks reach around 31°C (88°F), the coldest nights around 9°C (48°F). With 10 sunshine hours per day, November is one of the sunniest months — 33 mm (1.3 in) of rain over 3 days. At 15°C (59°F), the water is still quite cool in November — a wetsuit may be useful.
A jacket for cool evenings should not be left behind. Sightseeing and excursions can be enjoyed comfortably at this time of year.
Cape Town high summer: Table Mountain clear in the morning, with its tablecloth of cloud rolling in by afternoon. Boulders Beach has its full complement of penguins, and the Winelands around Stellenbosch are in their best light. The Kaapse Klopse on 2 January bring colour to the streets.
