The best time to visit Seville is April, May, June, July, August, September, and October. In summer, temperatures rise to 36°C; in winter they can drop to 6°C. During the best travel months, the sun shines up to 8 hours per day — ideal for beach and outdoor activities.
Seville is one of Europe's hottest cities. Average highs in July and August reach 36°C, and individual heatwaves regularly push past 40°C. Practically no rain falls in these months — July records 0 mm across zero days. The Guadalquivir basin traps the heat further, and nights cool only to 20–21°C.
That is precisely why summer is the worst season for a city best explored on foot. The Alcázar, the cathedral and the lanes of Santa Cruz need walking, and the months from October to May are made for it: 16–28°C, with April and May the finest. Semana Santa and the Feria de Abril fall in that window too.
Winter is mild but not dry: October to February bring 47 to 77 mm a month, with October by far the wettest. The days stay pleasant at 16–20°C, and Seville in January is considerably warmer than any other inland Spanish city. Anyone touring Andalusia in winter is best combining the city with the Costa del Sol, a few degrees milder again.
