The best time to visit Turkey (Belek) is May, June, July, August, September, and October. In summer, temperatures rise to 35°C; in winter they can drop to 7°C. During the best travel months, the sun shines up to 11 hours per day — ideal for beach and outdoor activities.
Belek is first and foremost a golf destination, and the climate explains why: between October and May highs sit at 15–26°C, so it is playable when courses in central Europe are closed. High summer is not suited to it — 35°C in July with 25°C at night is too much for eighteen holes.
Rainfall is sharply divided: June to September together bring 40 mm, while December and January deliver 213 and 222 mm. Anyone coming to golf in winter must reckon with rain days — nine in January — but with very mild, sunny spells in between. The courses among the pine woods are built around that winter season.
For beach holidays the same applies as in Side a few kilometres east: the Mediterranean reaches 29°C in August and stays above 22°C into November. October is the most balanced month at 27°C air, 25°C water and 8.5 hours of sunshine. The ancient city of Aspendos, with its exceptionally well-preserved theatre, lies half an hour away by car and rewards a trip outside the midday heat.
