Off-season — lowest travel prices with still acceptable climate.
June in Puerto Rico is generally manageable, but with 9 rain days it's not a reliably sunny month. Better conditions can be found in February and March.
Daytime highs reach 32°C (90°F) with a daily average of 29°C (84°F) — nights stay warm at 26°C (79°F). Peaks reach around 34°C (93°F), the coldest nights around 23°C (73°F). The sun shines an average of 8 hours per day; there are 9 rain days with 122 mm (4.8 in) total. The water is a warm 29°C (84°F) — perfect for snorkelling and swimming.
Sun protection, a hat, and plenty of water are essential at these temperatures. Plan activities for early morning or evening.
More warmth and more rain: showers come more often, but the sun shines strongly between the clouds. The El Yunque rainforest is lush green and the waterfalls are full. Hotel prices are lower, and the beaches empty after the high season.
On the eve of the feast of St John, Puerto Ricans celebrate on the beaches. At midnight people fall backwards into the sea at least three times to wash away bad luck and bring good fortune for the year ahead.
