The best time to visit Florida (Orlando) is February, March, April, May, October, and November. In summer, daytime highs average 33°C (91°F), with peaks around 35°C (95°F); in winter, nights average 12°C (54°F), dropping to around 1°C (34°F) on the coldest. All climate data are based on historical monthly averages (2005–2025) to help you plan the optimal travel time.
Orlando sits inland in central Florida, an hour or more by car from the beaches, and its climate is subtropical with a clear two-part year. From June to September it is hot and humid: daytime highs average around 32–33°C (90–91°F), nights rarely fall below 23°C (73°F), and on the hottest days it reaches around 35°C (95°F). Afternoon thunderstorms come almost daily, with 175–200 mm (6.9–7.9 in) of rain a month on eleven to fourteen rain days.
The best time for the theme parks is February to May plus October and November. Daytime highs then average between 24°C (75°F) and 31°C (88°F), the air is drier, and queues outside school-holiday weeks are often shorter than in summer. May already feels noticeably muggy; in October rainfall drops to around 85 mm (3.3 in).
Worth keeping in mind are the hurricane season from June to November, which usually reaches Orlando only as a storm with heavy rain, and the cool winter nights: in December and January daytime highs around 22°C (72°F) on average are normal, and on the coldest nights the temperature occasionally drops to around 2°C (36°F). At Christmas and over Easter the parks are especially busy and hotel prices at their highest. Anyone travelling in summer should plan water parks and air-conditioned breaks into the day.

From April to August, UV levels in Florida (Orlando) reach 9 — very high on the WHO scale. High-SPF sunscreen and shade around midday are essential.
January offers great weather in Florida (Orlando) with fewer tourists and lower prices — ideal for those who want to avoid the peak season crowds.
The parks are packed at Christmas and in the holiday weeks, and quieter in between. The weather is dry and mild, and nights can turn surprisingly fresh, so a jumper belongs in the daypack. For long days on foot between the attractions it is the most comfortable time.
Spring-break season: plenty of sun, air that is not yet oppressive, and gardens and lakes around the parks in bloom. Queues are long over the Easter weeks. By May the rising humidity already signals summer.
The weather follows a fixed rhythm: sun and heat in the morning, a powerful thunderstorm in the afternoon, steam in the air again by evening. Water parks and air-conditioned shows are the salvation now, and some days are washed out completely. In return the parks are often emptier outside the holiday weeks.
The mugginess eases and the thunderstorms become rarer, a welcome breather after summer. Halloween and autumn events in the parks add atmosphere, and in November waiting times are often shorter before Thanksgiving, until the crowds return for the holiday.
Walt Disney World's EPCOT park fills with large topiary figures and flower displays, plus garden booths serving spring dishes and the weekend "Garden Rocks" concert series. The festival is included with regular park admission.
Market booths around EPCOT's lagoon serve small dishes and drinks from around the world, alongside concerts and cooking demonstrations. The festival runs during regular park hours at no extra admission charge; food and drink are paid for individually.
On select nights, parts of Universal Studios Florida turn into haunted houses and scare zones with live performers. The event needs a separate ticket and October weekends often sell out.
