Off-season — lowest travel prices with still acceptable climate.
November in Bulgaria (Golden Sands) is on the cool side — with highs around 14°C (57°F) it's less suited for a beach holiday, but good for sightseeing away from the high season.
Temperatures reach a maximum of 14°C (57°F) during the day and drop to 6°C (43°F) at night — warm layers recommended. Peaks reach around 22°C (72°F), the coldest nights around -3°C (27°F) — frost does occur. With 3 sunshine hours per day and 5 rain days (46 mm (1.8 in)), this is one of the cloudier months. At 15°C (59°F), the water is still quite cool in November — a wetsuit may be useful.
Pack warm clothing and sturdy footwear. Cool temperatures make hiking and cultural trips enjoyable — beaches are off the agenda.
Out of season the resort is almost empty and most hotels are shut. The Black Sea is cold and grey and the nature park behind lies still. Anyone visiting now is more likely to see Varna and the surroundings than the beach.
