Ibiza – What you should know

Ibiza is far more than party tourism — climatically, the Pityusic island ranks among the most stable and sunniest holiday destinations in the Mediterranean. Summer is long, hot and almost rain-free. Water temperatures typically rise to 27°C, and the crystal-clear bays of the south and west invite swimming from May well into October.

Compared to Mallorca, Ibiza is even a little drier and sunnier. This is due to the lower elevation: without high mountains, there are no orographic clouds, and the sky remains reliably blue in summer. Only the Tramontane wind can bring a few unsettled days in spring.

Those who want to experience Ibiza without party noise and at lower prices should travel in May or September/October. The weather is superb, the beaches are quieter, and the island shows its natural beauty at its best — with pine forests, salt flats and small, secluded bays.
