The best time to visit Bali is May, June, July, August, September, and October. In summer, temperatures rise to 31°C; in winter they can drop to 24°C. During the best travel months, the sun shines up to 9 hours per day — ideal for beach and outdoor activities.
Bali has a tropical climate with two clearly defined seasons: the dry season from May to October and the rainy season from November to April. The dry season is the classic main travel period: blue skies, strong sunshine and lower humidity make these months the ideal time for beach holidays, surfing and trekking. April is a transition month — with typically around 8 rain days, it is not yet fully into the dry season.
In the rainy season it rains on Bali every day, but usually only in short, intense afternoon showers — the rest of the day often remains cloudy but warm. The interior with its rice terraces and volcanoes looks its greenest and most lush at this time. Many cultural travellers therefore prefer the off-season.
A special phenomenon is the difference between south and north Bali: the south coast with Kuta and Seminyak is flatter and pounded by powerful waves — ideal for surfers. The quieter north of the island around Lovina has smaller waves and calmer water, enabling snorkelling and diving.

April offers great weather in Bali with fewer tourists and lower prices — ideal for those who want to avoid the peak season crowds.
