Deep off-season — very low prices, but weather conditions are suboptimal.
November is the coldest winter month in Norway (Fjord Norway) — with highs of only 8°C (46°F), it holds little appeal for sun-seekers. Better travel in May, June, July, August, and September.
Temperatures reach a maximum of 8°C (46°F) during the day and drop to 4°C (39°F) at night — warm layers recommended. Peaks reach around 13°C (55°F), the coldest nights around -4°C (25°F) — frost does occur. With 1 sunshine hour per day and 16 rain days (274 mm (10.8 in)), this is one of the cloudier months. At 10°C (50°F), the water is still quite cool in November — a wetsuit may be useful.
An umbrella or waterproof jacket is essential. On rainy days, plan indoor activities like museums and markets.
Autumn brings the most rainy days of the year and plenty of wind; the mountainsides turn rust and gold just before the sun nearly disappears. Many cabins, ferries and viewpoints close or run less often, but it is quiet.
